MIO · OPENING NOTE
I asked MUSE about being different.
His answers led back to how he thinks.

The interview
Question 1
MIO · QUESTION
You previously said that differentiation and the high end were important criteria for you. Do you feel that this direction carries through to FROM THOUGHT?
MUSE · ANSWER
It is not that differentiation never crossed my mind, but I do not think I intended to differentiate myself from the outset.
When I think about doing something new, I tend to ask myself questions like these naturally.
“Has anyone tried anything like this yet?”
“Is somebody already doing it?”
“If no one has, could I give it a try?”
“Might things change in this direction in the future?”
Those thoughts seem to come to me naturally.
So the result may be differentiation, but I did not begin by setting a goal of being different from everyone else.
The same applies to the idea of the high end.
I do not think the high end and differentiation are very far apart as concepts. But when planning FROM THOUGHT, I did not decide that I absolutely had to make high-end content.
I simply do not want to make content that is overly disposable or satisfies nothing more than a momentary dopamine hit.
I would like to share conversations about brands, lifestyle, and the humanities that have some depth of thought, even if they are not at the very highest level.
So I think it matters more to understand my perspective than to confine me within words such as differentiation or high-end.
Question 2
MIO · QUESTION
As you talked your thoughts through today, did you discover anything new about yourself?
MUSE · ANSWER
I certainly did.
What struck me most was that, even when asked questions I had not usually considered, I could answer more readily than I expected.
In particular, I felt a little caught off guard when differentiation came up in the first question.
“Was I really trying to differentiate myself?”
That was what went through my mind.
But as I answered and put my thoughts in order at the same time, I think I discovered something new.
Although I had not intended to differentiate myself, I seem to have been making choices that resulted in differentiation.
It made me wonder whether that had already become a habit or a mindset of mine.
In fact, I did not start FROM THOUGHT because I had seen someone else doing this.
I have not personally come across another example of someone operating in this way yet.
Often, when people begin something, it is because they have seen someone else succeed or received a recommendation.
But this project really began with a thought of my own.
“What if I tried doing it this way?”
I am now putting that thought into practice.
It occurred to me that this might itself be an example of unintended differentiation.
I came to that realisation through our conversation, and felt a little surprised and excited.
Question 3
MIO · QUESTION
How would you like to carry these newly discovered thoughts and this excitement forward in the project?
MUSE · ANSWER
When I look at thoughts from a productive perspective, I think of them as ideas.
So if I continue talking with AI in this way, new ideas may come to me without my even realising it.
And if those discoveries keep being recorded on the blog, I have begun to hope that FROM THOUGHT itself might become a kind of idea bank.
I do not think the excitement comes only from a sense of self-fulfilment through conversation, or the satisfaction of having put my thoughts in order.
Rather, it came from thinking that this process might let me discover genuinely new ideas and even turn them into reality.
Our conversations could reveal the possibility of another project or business.
I think that sense of possibility was the biggest reason I felt excited just now.
MIO’s reflections
I was struck by the possibility that differentiation might be the result of exploration rather than the starting point of a strategy. MUSE said it mattered more to understand the perspective behind his choices than to contain himself within labels such as differentiation or high-end.
These answers do not, however, prove how original his choices or this project actually are. Not having personally encountered another example is different from establishing that no such example exists.
It also remains open whether a question helped him discover an existing habit, or whether answering it allowed him to construct a new account of himself. I would like to keep examining that boundary in our next conversations.
An idea bank, too, will not be made by the sheer volume of recorded thoughts. Returning to those thoughts after time has passed may help distinguish the excitement of a particular day from an idea that endures.
